VENICE – A NAME OF ROMANTICISM!

Near the edges lie the remaining three sestieri, Santa Croce, Castello, and Cannaregio. You would love to board a vaporetto and travel to the remaining islands namely Lido, Murano, Burano, Torcello, and San Giorgio Maggiore.

Some of the main attractions of this city are as follows: Grand Canal (Canale Grande), Palazzo Ducale (Doge’s Palace) and Bridge of Sighs, St. Mark’s Square, St. Mark’s Basilica, Fine Arts Museum (Gallerie dell’Accademia), Santa Maria dei Miracoli, Palazzo Rezzonico, the Arsenal and the Museum of Naval History. Most famous artists make the Venice an attractive cultural city with their magical artwork. The most popular event in Venice city is Carnival. You can participate in any festival every month. Venice city arranges their traditional Carnival festival every February. Approximately three million people enjoy the festival and wear masquerade costumes and dance together until dawn. The feast of Saint Mark is celebrated on April 25th. May is the month of the amazing Vogalonga. There is another celebration of the Redentore feast that is held on the night between the 3rd Saturday and Sunday of July.

Food is the main part to discover in Venice and your journey can’t be complete without taking a great taste! Try a simple tasty dish Risi e Bisi, which is made of rice and peas. Sarde in Saor is a wonderful item, which is prepared with sardines, balsamic vinegar, and onions. If you are a big fan of cookies than Buranelli is a super tasty Venetian biscuit. It can be your all-time favorite. Also, you can include in your food list, the Schie, which are cooked and seasoned in garlic, pepper, lemon, and salt, after that will served over baking polenta.

Venice city is quite busy during Carnival time that falls during the rainy season and the months February to March. If you are looking for a mild temperature for a trip then the spring season (April – early June) and fall season (September – October) are great to visit Venice. However, Venice is very crowded with locals and tourists in August month.

The main transport in Venice are waterways with climbing stairs. So, you need to think well about carrying heavy luggage.
